Building Resilient Inclusive and Global Harmony Through Digital EU Education

Providing a comprehensive systematized training, renovated digital content and materials, the BRIGHT-EU aims to foster an in-depth understanding of the European Union’s (EU) institutions, their policies, values, etc. in educational settings in addition to integrate EU-focused subjects into national curricula. By offering structured training and innovative educational materials with digital quality, BRIGHT-EU intends to cultivate a global and European citizenship awareness from the early stages of standard education on, enabling students to critically interact through EU identity in terms of global citizenship. To fulfil such a goal, BRIGHT-EU seeks to specify deficiencies in EU-related learning content in Turkish education system especially in teacher training programs; to provide accredited training tasks and also activities in a micro-learning program which includes digital open badges; to improve educators’ understanding of the EU and its values in general; to supply online or blended courses to assist the integration of the related content and materials into educational frameworks and classroom instruction; and finally to form a sustainable community of Practice (CoP) that will keep the collaboration and interaction among educators from different backgrounds. Organized around mainly six interrelated work packages, BRIGHT-EU intends to pursue a comprehensive approach to realize its goals. These include robust context and competence analysis, formation and production of high-quality micro-learning programs and digital educational materials, the designing an interactive online platform and community of practice for maintaining professional collaboration. In addition, BRIGHT-EU underlines a set of rigorous dissemination strategies to expand its impact in the long run, working with its educational stakeholders collectively in workshops, conferences and other forms of digital outreach.
