Description

Description

BRIDGE: Building, Revising, Including - Diaspora and Gender Equality is a pioneering project of partners from Austria, France, and Slovenia. We aim to spotlight the voices of diasporic women artists with a focus on diversity, gender equality, and social inclusion. BRIDGE transcends borders, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange to create a dynamic space for innovative curatorial and historization practices, based on feminist values inscribed in organizational DNA for decades. The project includes research and artistic residencies, publication of new contents, an international conference, and an exhibition. It explores innovative models of curating and archiving through the revision of its own practices. The project aims to raise visibility for women and gender non-conforming artists with a diasporic background, reflecting on how historical context influences the perception of migration streams in and beyond the European cultural space. Through the revision of our own archives and practices, as well as the collection of good practices across Europe, BRIDGE contributes to the diversification of voices in the cultural and creative sector. Join us on a transformative journey that amplifies unheard voices and reshapes the narrative of women's contributions to society. BRIDGE - connecting cultures, inspiring change. 3 partners | 26 months | 4 research residencies | 4 artistic residencies | international exhibition in Ljubljana | International Conference connecting Graz and Ljubljana | 14 new biographies added to the AWARE archive | 9 in-depth interviews featuring overlooked female artists with diasporic background | guidelines for increased inclusion and diversity in curating and archiving | decreased carbon footprint of project partners | increased social and economic inclusion of female artists with migratory experience or diasporic background | participation of Ukrainian culture and creative sector | critical evaluation of AI impact on archival practices
