"The project ""Building societies without racism"" is promoted by the Socio-Cultural Organization of the Municipality of Delta (Greece) with the aim of creating a thematic Network of Cities to raise awareness about the priorities related to the future of the EU. It works with a range of stakeholders (municipalities, civil society networks, organizations) to develop and implement strategies to respect diversity, counter extremism, xenophobia, anti-democratic and racist tendencies. It aims to provide support to cities in the context of the implementation of local policies to successfully address racism and racial discrimination and to adapt existing policies. The project wants to create a strong and fruitful collaboration between partners from Italy, France, Portugal, Denmark, Sweden, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Malta, Slovenia, Cyprus, Belgium, Spain, and Bulgaria, with a huge European represent and a large geographical dimension . The project will involve more than 450 direct participants and 600 indirect ones, enabling them to meaningfully relate European policies to their social life and reality and seeking to encourage active citizen participation, democratic action and action in favor of diversity. Each participant in the 5 different events planned across Europe will discuss the priority of the European political agenda, reflect on the type of Europe they want to help build. Public meetings, exchange of best practices, round table, case studies, permanent working group and interactive workshops will be organized during the meetings. The final meeting will present the results of the permanent working group of the project summarized in a folder in which the ideas and proposals are collected."
