Description
Description | Many of Europe's most pressing challenges today inherently involve technoscientific, environmental, and societal dimensions. The development of the European Joint Master TES, acronym for Technoscience, Environment and Society, comes from the need to not separate these dimensions, but to learn how to connect them in a highly transformative world. The project GO TES is a consortium of six universities spread all over Europe. Each of the partners provides complementary expertise in the focus areas of technoscience, environment, and society, while integrating gender awareness and artistic creativity throughout the programme to deliver an integrative educational approach for students. Students learn to act reflexively, responsibly, with foresight and care in response to the current socio-technical and environmental crisis. Students will be trained in environmental humanities, in science diplomacy and environmental security, as well as in intersectionality and epistemology in a practice-based way also through the local ecosystems of the HEIs. The GO TES project intends to develop a methodological core that realises the claimed interplay between theory and practice through the development of experiential methods, including phenomenological, experimental, creative, and artistic strategies. They play a central role in the development of students' TES-specific skills and competences. The outcome of the GO TES project will accordingly be a catalogue of didactic tools of innovative experiential learning and teaching methods, a prototype of the introductory autumn school offered by all partners on campus, a database of local ecosystems of relevant R&D institutions and cultural industries, and finally the consolidation of a robust group and communication structure to fulfil the tasks in administration and research-based teaching and also prepares the advertising campaign to launch TES for the study period in the second half of 2026/27. |
