Bulkley-Nechako - Smithers-Laidlaw Trail

The project will improve active transportation by completing work on a 3.5km segment of the Telkwa-Smithers Pathway known as the Smithers-Laidlaw Trail. The project will construct a multi-use pathway that runs along the Highway 16 corridor. The project is a stand alone portion of a proposed 12km trail that will eventually link Telkwa to Smithers. The multi-use pathway will encourage active transportation in the Smithers area. The project works include: - mobilization and de-mobilization; - site preparation including excavation geotextile, geogrid, sub-base and base; - installation of asphalt; - installation of signage, paint guard rails, retaining wall and fencing; - drainage including culverts; - landscaping; and, all related works.
