Description | This project is an engineering and planning study in Chatham County. The study will evaluate the US 80 Bridges and will develop a plan for replacement bridges over the Bull River and Lazaretto Creek. The study will recommend that bicycle and pedestrian facilities will be part of the typical section of the replacement bridges or on a separate bridge facility and how to connect to the existing McQueen's Island Multi-Use Trail that is located north of US 80 between the Bull River Bridge and the Lazaretto Creek Bridge. This study will identify the low areas of the US 80 roadway that flood during times of higher than usual tides and provide an alternative to mitigate this issue. |
