The project involves the selection of an anaerobic plant operator and the collection system for separately collected biodegradable waste in the municipalities of Burgas, Pomorie and Nesebar in Bulgaria. The scope of work includes: (1) collection from the containers at the source (points/objects) of the separately collected biodegradable waste from the territory of the municipalities and their transportation to the anaerobic installation; (2) acceptance and preliminary treatment of biodegradable waste collected at the source in an anaerobic installation for separately collected biodegradable waste; (3) anaerobic fermentation and biogas extraction; (4) utilization of biogas through a cogeneration module; (5) composting of biodegradable waste after anaerobic fermentation; (6) administrative management; and (7) security. Sponsors are local companies SBBG-BURGAS, SPARTAK TEXIM, BEFT, BULHART and GEO -BOR NOVA .
