Description

Description

EDC Burgos Wind Power Corporation (EBWPC) was created to build, own and operate an 87 MW wind farm to be located in Llocos Norte, the Philippines. The output of the power plant was expected to be sold at the premium feed-in tariff paid for eligible wind farm projects. EBWPC was a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Philippine Developer, Energy Development Corporation. The total cost of the project was estimated at USD 300 million which covered the costs of the wind farm, substation and transmission line. The project reached financial close in April 2013 after EDC signed a USD 80 million loan facility. The lead arrangers for the loan transaction were Mizuho Corporate Bank, Ltd and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation. EBWPC began construction in April 2013 and the power plant was scheduled for commissioning in 2014. EDC had selected the Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas to supply the plant's wind turbines. The plant comprised 29 of Vestas' V90 3-MW turbines, and is projected to generate an average of about 233 GWh a year. http://www.evwind.es/noticias.php?id_not=10930 http://thinkgeoenergy.com/archives/7674 http://business.inquirer.net/58415/edc-sets-aside-p20b-for-projects-in-2012
