Description
Description | The present project is related to capacity building for decentralized integrated water resources management (IWRM). It's initiated because of the significant deficit in human resources, especially at regional and local level for the Monitoring of Water Resources and Uses (SREU) in Burkina Faso. At the end of the training planned for the project, the trained personnel should integrate the services of the regional directorates responsible for the SREU with the following attributions: (i) monitoring the hydrometric, piezometric and quality networks; (ii) collect all data relating to uses, works, samples, needs, risks, etc.; (iii) process the collected data, enter them in the database of the National System of Information on Water (SNIEau) and disseminate it at regional level; (iv) contribute at the regional level to any IWRM action such as the regulation of water resources. The project consists, in a first step of (i) capacity building in the monitoring and evaluation of water resources, monitoring of water uses (works, demand, environmental needs) and the application of regulations on authorizations and declarations hydraulic works. This capacity building concerns the training of 18 Senior Technicians (TS 2 years of training) and 25 Technical Officers (TA 1 year of training) who should integrated the civil service at the end of their training. In a second step, it deals with (ii) a staffing of trained logistics and IT equipment staff to complete their tasks at the end of their training. |
