The Burkina Faso Digital Transformation project is designed to boost digital transformation through a series of integrated and mutually reinforcing interventions that will build upon and scale up the achievements of WARCIP Burkina Faso in terms of improved international and national connectivity and of Burkina eGovernment in terms of foundational digital government initiatives, as these two WB funded projects have just closed. Component 1 (Expanding Digital Connectivity for Digital Inclusion) will help to further improve access to affordable and high-quality broadband internet by unlocking critical climate-resilient investments in the middle- and last-mile. Component 2 (Accelerating the Digital Transformation of Public Services for Inclusion and Universal Accessibility) will establish further technological foundations (interoperability, digital signature, data hosting) and digital capabilities and increase the access to and uptake of people-centric digital public services. Component 3 (Developing Digital Skills for the Knowledge Economy) will focus on boosting the supply and demand for digital skills and increase the adoption of digital services provided by the public and private sector. Component 4 (Project Management) will support counterpart’s capacity in project management, communications, monitoring and evaluation (M&E), and environment and social risk management. Component 5 (Contingent Emergency Response Component, CERC) would help to respond to eligible crises or emergencies that could arise during implementation.
