Burnside Hospital Health Precinct Redevelopment

The Burnside Hospital is planning a $65 million redevelopment of its Kensington Road site in Toorak Gardens. The project includes a three-storey Health Precinct next to the existing hospital, linked by a footbridge, which will increase chemotherapy treatment services by 33%, add a linear accelerator for cancer radiation treatment, and build two new operating theatres to meet demand for day surgeries, catering for up to 3500 additional patient procedures per year. The redeveloped hospital is expected to treat more than 140,000 patients annually and support around 200 jobs during construction and more than 70 ongoing healthcare and support roles once operational.
