Description
Description | The proposed operation is an ADF-16 Grant, not exceeding UA 10.6 million, to the Republic of Burundi, for the Financial Governance and Investment Promotion Support Project (PAGFPI). This support is justified by the need to back up structural reforms in order to overcome economic and institutional challenges, in accordance with the strategic guidelines of the Bank and the Government, and as a means of consolidating the Bank’s previous economic and financial governance operations in Burundi. The project aims to mitigate the country's fragility factors and strengthen its economic and social resilience. PAGFPI has three components, namely : (i) Improved financial governance support ; (ii) Public investment programming and PPP promotion support ; and (iii) Economic reform coordination and project management. PAGFPI outputs therefore serve as concrete levers for ensuring transformation, their gradual implementation will facilitate achievement of the desired structural outcomes. Accordingly, activities financed by PAGFPI will strengthen technical skills and institutional capacities critical to improve PEFA indicators on public revenue management and public investment management. |
