Burundi - Private Sector Development Support Project (PADSP)

The Private Sector Development Support Project aims to help the country strengthen the institutional capacities of private companies. It is part of the Burundian Administration Capacity Building Programme, which includes four other projects. It is being implemented in three areas. The first focuses on capacity building to support the development of trade and industry, and is broken down into three key interventions: (i) setting up a methodological tool for analysing and monitoring trade policies; (ii) carrying out an analytical study on trade and industry; and (iii) providing technical assistance for industrial development. The second area focuses on capacity building for the development of public-private dialogue and partnership, broken down into two sub-components, namely: (i) capacity building for public-private sector dialogue; and (ii) capacity building for the promotion of public-private partnerships. The third concerns the management and coordination of the project, including the running costs of the project and the recruitment of an administrative and financial assistant, a monitoring and evaluation specialist and an external auditing firm.
