• The Region is proposing a pilot to initially start the transition to battery electric buses and the region will order 11 battery electric buses (BEB) to begin. • This project will specifically seek to provide the infrastructure needed to support the initial pilot phase of electrification of the GRT transit fleet. The first phase will include a minimum of 6 charging units and 12 dispensing units, including one dispensing unit within the maintenance area of the Northfield transit facility with the remaining dispensing units within the bus storage area. • The project also includes conducting any necessary studies to ensure the proper infrastructure is provided. Conducting an evaluation of the implementation in order to map the appropriate path forward beyond the pilot.
