Bus Fleet Electrification

The City of Guelph’s Bus Fleet Electrification project (the Project) will replace 13 diesel buses with battery electric buses. The Project will assist the City of Guelph’s transition to a low-carbon fleet by enabling the fleet transition to occur at a faster pace. The full scope of the Project includes a study on the electrification plans and results of large neighbouring municipalities who are currently piloting electric buses, and the purchase of the 13 battery electric buses. The Project aims to improve the quality of the Guelph transit system and supports access to clean energy transportation in line with the city’s direction to transition to a low-carbon transit fleet.
