Bus Shelters and Bus Stop Accessibility

• The project consists of the purchase and installation of new bus shelters at high traffic and high passenger demand locations, as well as the installation of new concrete pads with connectivity to adjacent sidewalks, which will improve boarding accessibility to conventional buses and comply with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA). • Specifically, the project includes the purchase and installation of 10 bus shelters as well as making 60 bus stops fully accessible. Five bus shelters will be placed at new locations and five will replace existing shelters that are at the end of their life cycle. • The project will improve the capacity of the public transit system, improve the quality and safety of existing and future transit system as well as improve access to the public transit system in the City of Cornwall.
