Building on existing assets and information/research, community-based, systems-level, collective impact to develop a fundable business case for integrated, affordable and sustainable transportation system or systems. The project involves hiring a consultant to develop a business case for public transit that will be innovative and holistic resulting in a plan that can be implemented with minimal impact on County taxpayers that will address the concerns of various agencies and volunteer groups in the County for access to work, access to food, access to learning and access to recreation and social activities. The result will be improved accessibility and improved customer safety. The investment through the project will support longer term transit expansion (i.e., enhanced service) as there currently is not a financial plan for public transit for the County. The emphasis is on a business case that utilizes local resources and is sustainable and financially sound.
