Description
Description | BUSTER film festival is Denmark’s largest film festival for children and youth aged 2-16 years. For two weeks each autumn, the festival showcases Danish and European films and series and curates meaningful, educative and social interaction around them with workshops, events and discussion. BUSTER recognizes its crucial role as a window into the lives of children and youth in Europe. By showcasing films that reflect the cultural diversity and common values of Europe, the festival enhances young viewers' connection to their peers across borders and encourages reflection on the ideals that shape our communities. With a focus on quality, innovation and understanding of the target group BUSTER each year facilitates events for the Industry including a children’s film conference, a Think Tank with young professionals and a yearly status report in collaboration with the Nordic European festival network NoJSe. In 2026-2027 BUSTER aims to expand its audience, strengthen its industry engagement, and innovate the cinematic experience, with a focus on the following strategic initiatives: - To develop our audience through data-based marketing and in strong dialogue with the young audiences themselves. - To be revitalise the cinematic experience with innovative formats and strategic partners - To build on the democratic potential of film by making the festival free for children and youth across socio-economic barriers and commencing a national children’s film day. - To ensure that European film is incorporated in the everyday curriculum of the schools by further promotion of the festival’s transnational streaming offer. - To spark civil engagement through film by highlighting important societal themes and encouraging thought and action through engaging events. - To continue the development of our Industry platform from a national and nordic event to an internationally recognized industry centre in Northern Europe. |
