Description | BYD is building its first European passenger-car plant in Szeged, southern Hungary. The project is being developed in phases and is regarded as an important manufacturing hub for expanding BYD's European operations. The plant is planned to begin vehicle assembly in the fourth quarter of 2026, about a year later than initially planned. The facility will produce the Dolphin Surf electric compact car and aims to localize production in Europe to reduce trade tensions and shorten delivery times. |
