The objective of the present application is to complete the financing to cover the development needs of the audiovisual works included in the mini-slate in order to succeed in the development and be able to take the projects to the production stage. The number of people involved in the development of the audiovisual projects included in the slate project is around forty and include the creative team, the production team, as well as location scouters, etc. The present slate consists of three projects and BYRD-Modiano (Greece) is the main producer in all of them: 1) NEARBY FARAWAY: A drama fiction feature film that tells the story of a Jewish woman whose sense of identity is shattered after she seeks out and meets the German father who abandoned her when she was young and discovers that her family history was fabricated: who she thought she was is not who she is. The film is based on the personal life of the director, Sonia Liza Kenterman (GR-DE). The project co-production structure: Greece-Germany-Belgium. Language: English, Greek, German. 2) SYDNEY SMILE FUTURE PERFECT: A drama fiction feature film that tells the story of Nu, a young gymnast that joins the Greek National Team’s training camp and suffers sexual abuse by the team doctor. The film is the debut fiction feature film of Gregoris Rentis (GR). The project co-production structure: Greece-Sweden-Luxembourg. Language: Greek 3) VANESSA: 8 forty-minute episode dramedy TV series about Vanessa, a German wedding planner who welcomes couples from different countries and organizes their wedding in the Greek islands. The series is an original idea by Alexandra Matheou (CY). Co-showrunners of the series are Alexandra Matheou (GR) and Argyris Papadimitropoulos (GR). The project co-production structure: Greece-Germany-Serbia-Cyprus. Language: English, Greek and the languages of the countries the couples that are getting married in each episode come from.
