Description | Working along with Gold Ridge, Mendocino, and project lead-Napa Co RCD, Sonoma RCD is conducting soil health assessments at 10 vineyard ranches over 3 years. Roughly 5 to 6 areas will be sampled at each ranch and analyzed for a suite of soil health characteristics. These assessments establish baseline numbers that can be referred to in the future when more testing is done. Results will be used to populate a north coast vineyard database which will provide a reference for typical ranges for these characteristics. Additionally, we will organize two workshops on soil health topics, manage two field demonstration trials, and provide education through quarterly newsletters and the hub website. |
