Description

CAB Ambiental, a subsidiary of the Brazilian group Queiroz Galvao, was awarded the 30-year concession contract to expand, rehabilitate and operate the sewerage facilities of the city of Estancia de Atibaia (state of Sao Paulo) in December 2012. The contract was awarded by the municipality's central administration, and the private sponsor committed to attend 100% of the population with sewerage services by the end of the contract's 5th year. The population of Atibaia was estimated at 125,000. CAB Ambiental was awarded the contract by offering the lowest revenue required over the life of the contract (US$ 276.6 million or BRL 540 million). All other companies which presented offers were not classified. The special purpose company created to manage the project CAB Atibaia took over the operation of the water and sewerage services in the end of December 2012. The private sponsor committed to invest US$ 50.2 million (BRL 98 million) over the life of the project.
