Description

This project is an exceptional assistance operation to combat the Zika epidemic in Cape Verde. It aims to strengthen Cabo Verde's ability to prevent, detect, control and strengthen the response to the outbreak of Zika virus disease and other mosquito-borne viral diseases. The intervention will consist of supporting the Government of Cape Verde in the implementation of its preparedness and response plan. This plan will be implemented within one year at a total cost of € 2,436,200. It consists of six main components focused on preparation, detection, response, monitoring and research. It will be implemented under the leadership of WHO in collaboration with key technical and operational partners in the health field. In addition, research institutes will actively participate in the production of scientific information and relevant evidence to guide public health interventions.
