Description

Description

The goal of the proposed project is to protect the critical, sole-source Cache Creek drinking water infrastructure from flooding. This will include raising the access road above the 200-year flood level, installing new wells above the 200-year flood level, decommissioning low lying wells, and raising various electrical and pumping components. These works will protect the Cache Creek Water Treatment Plant (WTP) from floods and help ensure uninterrupted access to safe drinking water. The following activities are proposed: 1. Raise the water treatment plant access road to above the 200-year flood level. 2. Extend the casing and electrical of well PW#7 to above the 200-year flood level. 3. Decommission the low lying well PW#6. 4. Install a safe drinking water well above the 200-year flood level as a replacement to low lying PW#6 5. Install an emergency backup generator 6. Disconnect the clearwell gravity overflow to river piping and replace with a overflow sump pump. 7. Complete a WTP flood failure evaluation and raise electrical as needed
