Description | The project involves the construction of the first phase of the 695MW Cajuina wind complex, located in the state of Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil. The first phase of the complex will have a total installed capacity of 324.5MW divided among 55 wind turbines. The complex is contracted under a long-term power purchase agreement. The sponsor is AES Brasil Energia, acting through a special purpose vehicle named AES Cajuina AB1 Holdings. The company issued $184.1 million (BRL950 million) green debentures with a maturity of 22 years and priced at IPCA +7.07% to finance the project. The total investment value is $236.03 million and the debt to equity ratio is 78:22. Financial close was achieved in June 2022.
