Description | This project comprised the simultaneous construction of three new K-4 Schools in Calgary. All three schools followed the same design consisting of a central lobby with wings running out from it, as well as peaked roofs that allowed for ground to ceiling windows to let in natural light. The schools were all turned over on budget and on schedule for the start of the school year. With a 3,498-square-metre footprint, each school features numerous classrooms, a gymnasium, a library, administration offices plus a mechanical room on the second floor. The Owner required the project to be sustainable by attaining LEED® Silver certification and incorporating solar photovoltaic panels on the roofs. We utilized VDC/BIM on all three of these schools. |
