California High-Speed Rail Central Valley Route

planned

The California High-Speed Rail Authority released a 2026 business plan draft outlining plans to reduce the cost of the initial Central Valley route by $2 billion through right-sizing the project to control costs and begin service sooner. The plan includes forming public-private partnerships for financing infrastructure and maintenance, commercializing assets like clean energy generation and broadband infrastructure to generate revenue before operation, and seeking new revenue streams and state legislative support.
