Description

The California High-Speed Rail Authority is constructing the nation's first 220 mph high-speed rail system in the Central Valley. The project includes a railhead facility in Kern County for housing equipment and materials, construction of the Hanford Viaduct with 112 girders placed over the San Joaquin Valley Railroad, work on the State Route 43 Tied Arch Bridge with falsework erected for signature arches, and grade separations at Avenue 17 and Road 26 in Madera County as well as underpasses at Cesar Chavez Boulevard and Tulare Street in Fresno. Over 60 miles of guideway and 54 structures have been completed, with 30 structures under construction across four counties. The project has created more than 15,000 jobs, mostly filled by Californians.
