Description | Adacami Enerji was planning the development of the 29 MW Adacami hydropower plant, run-of-river, Guneysu district, Rize province. The project was to produce 119 GWh annually. Adacami Enerji was a subsidiary of Turkish conglomerate Calik Holding. Construction started in December 2009, commissioning was expected in the latter part of 2012. The Turkish government opened up for tender concessions for 52 run-of river hydropower plants, between December 2009 February 2010. During the tenders, 615 bids were made and the deals were finalized in May/June 2010. Total costs were estimated at EUR44 million ($58.5 million). Financing was provided by the Turkish Development Bank in September 2010 with a EUR34 million ($45.2 million) loan, 12 year maturity and 3 year grace period. |
