Description | SSEN Transmission's scheme for the 400kV Cambushinnie substation near Braco, Perthshire, includes a control building, engineering operations, plant and machinery, and track alterations. It is part of the Beauly to Denny overhead line upgrade to carry renewable electricity from northern Scotland to the central belt. The substation footprint is approximately 140,000 square metres, equivalent to 19 football pitches, and is more than six times larger than the existing substation. A haul track for construction traffic access has also been proposed, with construction intended to start in April 2026 and last 11 months, subject to planning approval. |
