Camden County is investing $400 million in infrastructure projects to reduce sewage and stormwater overflows into local waterways. The project aims to improve water quality and mitigate flooding by reducing combined sewer overflows by 90%, separating combined sewer flows in Pennsauken, investing in green stormwater infrastructure, rehabilitating aging sewers, remediating sediment, and restoring recreational lakes. The initiative is considered the most ambitious water quality project in the county's history and will take about 10 years for the first phase.
