Cameroon - Ambam-Eking Road Development

This intervention concerns the Ambam-Eking Road Improvement Project. It participates to the economic integration of the country and the sub-region, improving some of the links with Gabon and Equatorial Guinea. The project contributes effectively to the reduction of poverty in the project area, by: (i) improving the living conditions of the neighboring populations, (ii) the economic promotion of women, and (iii) the satisfaction of social and educational needs. The implementation of the Yaounde-Mbalmayo-Ebolowa-Ambam-Gabon border is an essential phase in the gradual development of the Yaounde Oyem-Libreville corridor decided by the countries of the sub-region. The project consists of the following components, namely: A) Construction works consisting of: i) development of 27 km of paved road, ii) ancillary works, iii) track work, provision of services for the control and supervision of works; (iv) awareness-raising services; and (v) compensation for expropriation; B) project management including: i) support to the MINTP and MINEF road management, ii) environmental monitoring, and iii) project audit.
