Cameroon - Construction of oil rig repair facilities in Limbé

The proposed project is part of Cameroon's industrial development policy. It aims to provide the Cameroon Shipyard and Industrial Shipyard (C.N.I.C.) with a deepwater site for the repair of oil platforms and associated vessels. Indeed, the CNIC site (based at the port of Douala) limits the arrival of ships due to the draught reduced in places to -5/-6 m. This extremely strong constraint is no longer compatible with the characteristics of many ships and has led the CNIC to look for a new site to accommodate ships and platforms wishing to carry out naval repairs. The Project includes the construction of onshore and offshore facilities for the repair of platforms and ships related to oil activities at the Cap Limboh site west of the City of Limbe, as well as the acquisition of materials and equipment. The work is planned over 30 months.
