Description

Description

This emergency humanitarian aid was initiated to provide assistance to Central African, Nigerian and internally displaced refugees fleeing the abuses of the Boko Haram sect in the far north of Cameroon. This intervention is part of continuing efforts to provide emergency assistance to improve the living conditions and livelihoods of these stricken populations. Indeed, despite the efforts of the Cameroonian Government and the international community, the situation of these refugees and of the host populations remains very worrying in terms of health, food and nutrition. The contribution of the Bank Group will be US $ 1 million net of taxes, in the form of a grant, to be made from the Special Relief Fund. Given the implementation deadlines and in order to guarantee the desired efficiency, this amount will essentially finance the acquisition of inputs (market garden seeds and food) and essential agricultural tools, the acquisition of medicines, equipment for family shelters. including latrines. This support will also enable refugees and IDPs who are ready to return to their countries / areas of origin to do so in a timely manner or to improve their living conditions and self-sufficiency for local socio-economic integration in order to rapidly reduce their dependence on humanitarian aid provided by the international community while taking into account the needs of the host populations who have also suffered the shock.
