Cameroon - Road Improvement in the West, Littoral and South Provinces

The present intervention relates to the Road Development Project in the Western, Coastal and Southern Provinces. It’s designed to improve the state of the national road network. The project aims to open up the aforementioned provinces and should also contribute to the development of regional trade in food products with neighboring countries (especially Gabon and Equatorial Guinea). It should directly contribute to the development of the major production routes to Douala and Yaoundé and the economic integration of the provinces. The project consists of the following components: A) the construction works composed in particular of: (a) 22.5 km paved road improvement works (including 15 km of section of the cliff and 7.5 km in the part of the plain) and the renewal of the wear layer over 22.5 km of Melong-Dschang Road; (b) services for the control and supervision of works; B) project management including: (a) support to the project implementation unit of the Roads Directorate; and (b) service provision for the audit of the project.
