Description

Description

The development of objective of the Second Fiscal Sustainability, Inclusive, and Sustainable Growth Development Policy Financing Program for Cameroon is to: (i) improve fiscal sustainability, governance, and public sector management; (ii) improve inclusion by ensuring equitable access to services and empowering women and girls; and (iii) lay foundations for sustainable infrastructure development. Cameroon’s Vision 2035 aims to achieve upper-middle-income status by 2035, focusing on poverty reduction, industrialization, and consolidating democracy and national unity. The National Development Strategy 2020-2030 (SND30) adopted in November 2020 supports this vision by promoting economic growth, improving social services, strengthening climate resilience, and enhancing governance. SND30’s four pillars: (1) structural economic transformation; (2) human capital development; (3) job creation and economic inclusion; and (4) governance, decentralization, and strategic state management. Pillars 2 and 3 emphasize social inclusion, while Pillar 4 seeks to address various drivers of conflict through: (i) advancing decentralization and local development; (ii) strengthening rule of law and the security of people and property reduction; (iii) enhancing public services; (iv) strengthening economic and financial governance by rigorously fighting corruption, embezzlement, and conflicts of interest; and (v) improving regional planning.
