Description
Description | The proposed project aims to develop a comprehensive running training program tailored to university students, with the dual objectives of establishing student-led organizations and fostering inclusive running communities. Led by the Track&Field Volunteers Association (AGON) from Türkiye, in partnership with Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) from Greece, New Peak Outdoors from Cyprus, and GLOCALBASE from Türkiye, the project endeavors to address social isolation, promote physical activity, and cultivate leadership skills among students. Key objectives of the project include: - Creating a community platform that facilitates interaction among students, offering a space to organize activities, share informative publications, and produce podcasts related to running, well-being, and leadership. - Designing a tailored running training program to meet the diverse needs and interests of university students. - Training student volunteers as running mentors to lead training sessions and foster a supportive environment. - Establishing student-run running clubs to organize regular run sessions, social events, and collaborations with other student organizations. - Providing opportunities for students to develop leadership, communication, and organizational skills through coaching and event planning. - Evaluating the effectiveness of the running training program and events in promoting socialization and reducing social isolation. The project will involve research, design, implementation, and evaluation phases, with activities such as coach training workshops, running program implementation meetings, and dissemination events to share project outcomes with stakeholders and the wider community. Additionally, the project will leverage digital platforms to extend its reach and foster engagement through interactive content and discussions. |
