Canada Games 2023 Credit Union Place Athlete Training & Hosting Upgrades

The project consists of upgrades to the facilities at Credit Union Place in Summerside in order to accommodate the training and hosting standards for the Canada Winter Games in 2023 and future events. The project includes the installation of 2 gender neutral accessible washrooms, 1 premium skybox lounge and 4 standard skybox lounges, training gym space, janitorial space within current unoccupied space within Credit Union Place. The renovation would include 2,800 ft2 of upgraded space. The project would result in a 75% increase in available VIP hosting capacity and is expected to result in a 5% increase in annual visitation and a 50% increase in skybox rental revenue for the facility. The project is required in order to meet the demand for skybox rental and to increase rental revenue to offset operation and maintenance costs. The project is also required in order to upgrade the facility to provide enhanced athlete training/warm up and VIP hosting capacity for the 2023 Canada Games and future world class sports and entertainment events. The project will improve the available athlete training and warm up space, increase hosting capacity for larger events, improve service delivery for the corporate community, meet demand for premium event seating, improve catering services, increase sponsorship value, increase versatility for media partners and national television broadcasts and increase the revenue generation potential.
