Description

Description

The Project consists of upgrades to the existing Tignish Arena to bring the venue up to hosting standards for the Canada Winter Games in 2023. These upgrades will increase the quality of this recreational infrastructure and provide benefits to the community beyond the Canada Winter Games. The Project works include: - Replacement of current bench seating with fixed folding spectator seating; - Improvements to the arena sound system; and, - Expansion of the paved parking lot by approximately 15,000 square feet. These upgrades will benefit residents of the Town of Tignish and the broader community for the duration of the 2023 Canada Winter Games and beyond by increasing the quality of player and spectator experience with improved seating and sound systems. The Project will also correct deficiencies in the current accessibility path and reduce pedestrian/vehicle interactions, which will create a safer and more inclusive facility. These improvements will result in approximately 225 additional visits to the facility per year.
