Canada High-Speed Rail Environmental Studies

Alto has launched the next phase of its environmental field studies programme to develop a high-speed rail network in Canada. The 2026 studies focus on gathering environmental data along the corridor between Ottawa and Montréal to support impact assessments and inform future planning and engineering work. The studies include wildlife and plant surveys, soil sampling, noise monitoring, and analysis of waterways and wetlands, conducted in line with regulatory requirements. The study locations span rural, suburban, and urban areas within the corridor, and the work involves collaboration with Indigenous communities.
