Description
Description | The Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) for 2023-2027, effective from 1 January 2023, incorporates Italy's ambitious CAP Strategic Plan (CSP) with a focus on competitiveness, environmental sustainability, rural development, and food quality. The CSP aims to ensure farmers a fair income, protect against adverse climate events, combat labour exploitation, improve rural life, and reduce the environmental impact of agriculture. In response, CAP4AGRINN initiates an information campaign to explain the profound societal impact of these objectives, often perceived as exclusive to the agricultural sector. CAP4AGRINN particularly addresses two CAP objectives: enhancing European agriculture's response to societal demands for quality, safe, and sustainable food, and promoting employment, generational renewal, and gender equality, with a focus on empowering women in agriculture. The campaign targets a diverse audience, bridging the knowledge gap between agricultural stakeholders and citizens unfamiliar with agricultural issues. This groundbreaking campaign shifts focus from primary production to the entire agri-food chain, encompassing dietary and health considerations relevant to all citizens. Aligned with the aim of encompassing the entire agri-food chain, the project extends its reach beyond those already within the agricultural domain. Thus, CAP4AGRINN strategically targets journalists as influential conveyors of information capable of involving civil society in general. In addition to young farmers, CAP4AGRINN is aimed at young citizens entering the agri-food sector, organizing educational workshops in agricultural and hospitality, tourism and catering/restaurant management institutes. The project stands out for the active integration of women in its initiatives, underlining their vital role for the agrifood sector. |
