Capacity Building for Social Reintegration

The overall objective of this Technical Cooperation (TC) is to improve the social integration and effectiveness of attention provided to children at risk in the streets. The specific objectives of the TC are to (i) evaluate and compare alternative operational approaches to social reintegration of street children, and systematize the best practices in order to use the methodology as a tool in increasing the effectiveness of interventions in the target group; (ii) build local and national capacity in Guatemala by developing and providing quality training in the social reintegration methodology to committed NGOs and public sector officials; (iii) forge long-term partnerships within and between public and private sectors in Guatemala to provide lasting, autonomous solutions to the situation of children at risk in the streets; and (iiv) make the methodology available to a larger audience through visual documentation and electronic publications.
