Description | Fervo Energy's Cape Station power project near Milford, Utah, aims to prove the commercial viability and scalability of enhanced geothermal system (EGS) technology. Baker Hughes has been awarded a contract to provide surface power generation equipment for the second phase of the project, including five organic rankine cycle (ORC) units each with a capacity of 60 MW equivalent. Phase 1 is set to deliver 100 MW of baseload power in 2026, and phase 2, with a capacity of 400 MW, is due online in 2028. The full development has permitting approval for up to 2 GW of renewable energy. |
