Cape Station geothermal power project

Cape Station is Fervo's first commercial geothermal power plant project in Beaver County, Utah. It is a 500-megawatt enhanced geothermal system designed to power nearly 400,000 homes. The project involves drilling wells 10,000 feet deep and directionally drilling horizontally another 7,500 feet, with hydraulic fracturing to release flows of naturally heated water. The plant will begin delivering some power by the end of 2026 and is expected to be fully operational in 2028, with Southern California Edison as the primary customer.
