Capital - Drake Road Trail Upgrade Project

The project will improve active transportation for the residents of Salt Spring Island’s access to Ganges Village by creating a pedestrian trail that will remove them from utilizing the road in the winter months when the existing dirt path is un-useable. The project will ensure the safe travel of pedestrians travelling from Cypress View Rd. and Bishops Walk to Ganges Village and Mouat’s Park. The improvements will allow less mobile residents to be able to walk throughout the area. The project works include: - mobilization and de-mobilization; - drainage works including culverts, headwalls and erosion control; - construction of trails including brush removal, site preparation, sub-base and base, and stairs; - removal of existing wood bridge; and, - all related works.
