Description | The Assam government has decided to transfer the reconstruction of the Capital Point–Rongirkhari road in Silchar from the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) to the state Public Works Department (PWD) to expedite the long-pending project. The PWD will prepare a fresh cost estimate and reconstruct the road with a new bituminous surface after removing the damaged top layer. Reconstruction work is planned to begin immediately after the monsoon season, with heavy vehicles prohibited on the stretch until completion. |
