This project consists of rehabilitation of three active transportation (AT) corridors at various locations throughout the province for an approximate combined length of 25.9 kilometres. These dedicated routes will create a safer opportunity for the public to utilize greener methods of transportation while encouraging others to consider active transportation as an option for travel. The following list includes the locations and the scope of work for each site. 1) Route 20 - Kensington: Work includes adding 1.2 metre shoulders to each side of the road for a distance of 11 kilometres. This is a heavily traveled route that leads to Malpeque, a popular tourist destination. 2) Route 17 - Lower Montague: Work includes adding 1.2 metre shoulders to each side of the road for a distance of 3.9 kilometres. Route 17 connects the community of Montague to Panmure Island, a popular tourist destination and common cycling route. 3) Route 15 - Brackley: Work includes adding 1.2 metre shoulders to each side of the road for a distance of 11 kilometres. Route 15 provides a direct route to the National Park in Brackley from the capital City of Charlottetown , this section of road is as a heavily traveled route with the ability to connect to existing AT trail routes.
