Description

Description

CARE is a European cooperation initiative that harnesses the power of art and culture to strengthen climate advocacy, civic participation, and emotional resilience among young people. Led by Fine Acts (BG) with partners DE/MO (NL) and Hafnar.haus (IS), the project connects artists, cultural actors, and communities to inspire meaningful engagement with the climate crisis. At the heart of CARE are three interconnected and innovative formats, designed for maximum visibility, emotional resonance, and reusability. SPRINTS, a creative program for visual artists, will engage 50 young talents from at least 15 European countries to create a collection of open-license, climate-related illustrations. These works will be showcased across three public pop-up exhibitions in Sofia, Amsterdam, and Reykjavik. In addition, we will develop the Exhibition in a Box – a ready-to-use package of materials for cultural venues, educators, climate advocates, and community groups enabling effortless production of illustration exhibitions across diverse contexts. The Creative Bootcamp for contemporary artists will bring together 15 creatives to design open-license blueprints for impactful public artworks, free to be replicated by organizations, cultural and educational entities, and communities. Three of these concepts will also be produced and presented in public space, amplifying the emotional and civic dimensions of climate action. Through WESEUM – a participatory digital activation – we will gather 100 climate stories from young Europeans, each shared through a meaningful personal object, offering a powerful, people-centered narrative of climate realities across Europe. A curated selection of these submissions will also be presented as a photo exhibition during the project’s closing event in Amsterdam. The project concludes with the Creative Climate Summit in Amsterdam and the publication of the Creative Climate Toolkit, extending CARE’s reach and ensuring its methods and materials continue to support cross-sector climate engagement far into the future.
