Career and mama - where ambitions nourish along with a family nest

Project “Career and mama - CAM2025” is envisaged as a 12-month activity gathering 6 partners from trade union, research and non-formal education sector from Bosnia and Herzegovina (BIH) and Serbia, to work together on establishing the work-life balance of women with children through changes to the strategic and legal framework in BIH that pertains to maternity policies... CAM2025 is focused on improving the maternity rights and adjusting private and working life for all women in BIH, starting from the most important - changing the strategic and legislative framework, currently not dealing in a great extent with these issues, thus causing multiple damage to BIH society. Work on the initiative for change of legislation also encompasses a set of accompanying steps: detailed situation analysis in order to start creating evidence-based policies, making educational material to introduce the main target groups to the topic in more detail, and capacity building of 32 trade union leaders, primarily women from both entities and Brčko District to act as advocates and lobbyists. Partners from Serbia should secure the quality of research and educational process, also introducing study visit to Serbia as one of the activities, due to progress this country made precisely in the field of project topics. Research, capacity building and further transfer of information will be accompanied by one more component - extensive campaign “All roles of a woman” that should contribute to awareness raising among the population. In numbers, project can be presented as follows: 1 comprehensive research (quantitative and qualitative) based on sample of 430 women; set of educational material developed with video tutorial enclosed; 32 trade union leaders, primarily women empowered to lobby for the topics; 16 local workshops with more than 320 direct participants, 500,000 people reached through the campaign and 1 official initiative for amending the legal framework submitted.
