Description | Carleton Place has started construction on major upgrades to its water and wastewater treatment plants to support long-term growth and housing development. The wastewater treatment plant capacity will increase and be converted to a membrane bioreactor facility. The water treatment plant will be expanded with improved operational access within the existing urban site. Stantec is overseeing construction and providing engineering support, while ASCO Construction Ltd. was awarded the $133 million construction contract. Work is expected to continue into early 2029. |
